Shakira declined a role in the movie 'Love In The Time Of Cholera' because it would have involved her stripping for a scene.
Shakira revealed that author Gabriel Garcia Marquez wanted her to act in the movie but she balked because she was scared the nude scene would offend her parents.
The pop singer has been nominated for a Golden Globe for the soundtrack of the movie.

Former James Bond actor Sir Roger Moore has lavished praise on Colombian singer Shakira, branding her a "very talented lady".
The actor, 80, has become friends with the star through their work with charity Unicef, of which they are both goodwill ambassadors, and admits he's a big fan of hers.
He says, "I know Shakira and her great work. She's a very talented lady."

Colombian pop superstar Shakira has yet to start planning for her wedding to fiance Antonio De La Rua - because she's "too busy".
The 30-year-old - who announced her engagement to the son of former Argentinean president Fernando de la Rua in March 2001 - admits her nuptials have been put on hold as a result of her packed work schedule.

Shakira, Bono, Alicia Keys and Wyclef Jean were among the stars who joined former U.S. President BILL CLINTON for a roundtable discussion on youth activism in New York City on Saturday (29Sep07).
Clinton hosted the event at Harlem's legendary Apollo Theatre, where he called on each young audience member to "be a citizen servant, a giver, because we have to have a vital society".

Kind-hearted pop star Shakira is donating million to help rebuild areas in the Americas hit by recent natural disasters.
The Columbian singer will donate the money from the foundation Latin America for Solidarity Foundation (ALAS) - which she co-founded with Nobel Prize winning author Gabriel Garcia Marquez.
The money will go to repair damages caused by an earthquake in Peru and a hurricane in Nicaragua.

The Hips Don't Lie hitmaker has quietly enrolled at Los Angeles university UCLA, where she has been attending history classes for the past month.

Shakira has unveiled a new campaign to raise 0 million for the fight against juvenile malnutrition and hunger in Latin America.
The Colombian singer announced the initiative at an ALAS Foundation (Latin America in Solidarity Action) event at Panama's Teatro Nacional earlier this month (Jul07).
